Opening Ball is a desired event for any dancer and lover of authentic Argentinean tango culture. The highlight of the concert is a performance of all Argentinean master-dancers, who will give you a deep insight into sensuality, elegance and breathtaking musicality of tango. The orchestra "Astillero" will play original arrangements of the Golden Age of the Tango Argentino from Rio de la Plata. Astillero
Astillero Tango opens the challenge with its music The sound of Astillero is forceful, vertiginous, breathtaking and raw, yet sophisticated as well. One can imagine a rollercoaster ride of throbbing accents modulating into earth-shattering pianissimos and beyond. Yet this wild sound is entirely hand-made, free of any gimmicks, 100% acoustic: the sound of just wood and strings, brought to searing life by an acute sense for translating the experience of 21st century urban life into new music, built on a solid traditional foundation of Buenos Aires' tango. Astillero will play their own compositions and tango traditionals on the opening ball.
